Consumer units sometimes known as a ’Fusebox/board’ perform a vital role ensuring electrical safety in the home, protecting you against electric shocks and fires. These units incorporate multiple devices to provide control, distribution and protection to the various final circuits within the installation.

Standards for consumer units have changed immensely over the years, many existing consumer units within homes still have units dating from the 1960s with wooden backboxes and BS 3036 rewireable fuses.

All of our consumer unit upgrades are Wiring Regulations, BS 7671:2018 compliant and also incorporate individual RCBO protection and an integral surge protection device (SPD) as standard, ensuring that you and your sensitive electronic devices at home are kept safe.
